Dental radiographs are necessary for orthodontic treatment. They aid in visualization of the mandible and maxilla, detecting pathology, assessing bone levels, and observation of root angulation.
Proper imaging must be obtaining prior to starting orthodontic treatment, as it is a critical component of the treatment planning process.
